I cannot boot from the CD, and when I try to install it from my previous Windows version I get Not a valid win32 application. What is wrong?

You have downloaded the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 and are trying to install it on a 32-bit system. This is impossible and you must download the 32-bit version and install that one instead.
