I have enabled Remote Desktop, but when I try to logon I get the message: "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction". How do I solve this?
First of all, to be able to logon using Remote Desktop, the user must be a
member of the Remote Desktop Users group. You can add the user to this
group by doing this:
- Right click My Computer and click Properties.
- Click on the Remote tab.
- Click on the button Select Remote Users...
- Add the user(s) you want to have remote access
If the problem persists after doing this, the problem might be that the user has a blank password. In order to access network resources (Remote Desktop, File Shares, etc.), the user cannot have a blank password.
