I have installed Windows Server 2003, and the only desktop icon
that appears is the Recycle Bin. Where are "My Computer", "My Network Places"
etc?
If you only want the icons back, follow these steps:

Right click the desktop, and select Properties

Click on the Desktop tab, and then click on the Customize
Desktop
button.

Select the icons you want back on the desktop
If you want the old Windows 2000 style, you should change to the Classic
Style instead. This will also get all icons back on the desktop.
To do that, follow these steps:

Right click the taskbar and click Properties
-
Click on the Start Menu
tab
-
Select Classic Start Menu instead of Start Menu
