Is Sharepoint Portal Server 2001 (SPS 2001) supported on Windows Server 2003?

No, SPS 2001, regardless of Service Pack, is not supported on Windows Server 2003 because of the incompatibilities between the Web Storage System and IIS 6. For more information, read KB Article 820328
