I installed the Remote Desktop Connection client on another computer, but when I try to logon to the server I get: "The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might not be enabled..." What is wrong?

The complete error message is:

The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection

The most common reason why this occur is because you have forgotten to allow users to logon remotly. To allow this, follow these steps:

  • Right click My Computer and select Properties
  • Click the Remote tab and in the Remote Desktop area check the box Allow users to connect remotly to this computer
